The Fourth of July is almost here, and warm weather is here along with everything else that it brings with it. Whether you enjoy barbecues, time spent with family and friends, or just relaxing after a long week at work, almost everyone can find common ground in one enduring tradition: fireworks. Here are some great places to see fireworks if you’ll be in or near Rochester this Independence Day.
Independence Day celebration with RPO: Celebrate the 4th of July in downtown Rochester, with fireworks set to begin at 10pm. At 9:30pm, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra will play on a stage outside the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The Main St. Bridge, the Broad St. Bridge, Chestnut St. near the Washington Square Garage and the surrounding streets will be the best places to view the fireworks after the performance.
Aside from downtown Rochester, here are some other locations to see fireworks:
Brighton: Saturday at 9:50pm, at Brighton High School.
Canandaigua: Saturday at 9:30pm, at Kershaw Park.
Chili: Saturday at 10pm, on Chili Avenue.
Downtown Buffalo: Saturday at dusk, at the Erie Canal Harbor Fourth of July celebration. Festivities begin at 5pm and include live music and children’s activities.
Farmington: Friday at dusk, in Town Hall Park.
Greece: Saturday at 10pm, at Grace and Truth Sports Park.
Henrietta: Saturday at 9:40pm, at Henrietta Veterans Memorial Park.
Irondequoit: Saturday at 9:30pm. The two-day celebration on the Fourth of July weekend takes place on Friday and Saturday.
Lima: Saturday at 9:45pm, at Tubbs Parks.
Livonia: Friday at 10pm, at Conesus Lake.
Lyndonville: Saturday at 10pm, at the Lions 4th of July Celebration on the Lyndonville School Grounds. Performance by the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at 7:30pm.
Penfield: Saturday at 10:15pm, at Harris Whalen Park.
Seneca Falls: Saturday at 9:30pm, at Vince’s Park.
