Cher Sick, Ends Latest Vegas Run Early
Cher is battling a respiratory aliment, which has been keeping her off the stage. According to Robin Leach's column in the "Las Vegas Weekly," the veteran singer is suffering from, quote, "asthma-related bronchitis," and her condition forced her to scrap last Saturday and Sunday's performances of her show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Those missed dates marked her third cancellation in two weeks, the second consecutive weekend Cher's concerts were bumped. Her current bout is being considered a relapse, and is blamed on her trying to return to the stage before she had completely recovered following the initial onset. In addition, the dry Nevada climate is said to have aggravated her throat problems. These dates, which will not be rescheduled, were her final Vegas shows of the year. Cher's 2009 performance schedule hasn't been announced yet, but is expected to begin early in the year. |
