Meat Loaf Classic Hit Honored
Meat Loaf already knows he'll be taking home a trophy at the Q Awards. The classic rocker's been tapped to receive the Golden Q award at the event for his epic hit "Bat Out Of Hell," which is being noted as a "classic song." Meat has said he feels "honored" to have his lengthy tune recognized in this way. "Q" editor in chief Paul Rees says the track is certainly deserving, explaining, quote, "There are some songs that transcend such things as time and genre, and 'Bat Out Of Hell' is assuredly one of them." After it's UK release in 1979, "Bat Out Of Hell" held a spot on the charts for nearly nine years, and more than 70-million copies of the album have sold worldwide. Meat is expected to be on hand at the Q Awards ceremony, taking place in London tonight, to accept his award. |
