Fall Out's Stump Gets The Blues For Wentz
Fall Out Boy continues to evolve with each album, as does the relationship between singer Patrick Stump and the band's primary songwriter, bassist Pete Wentz. Stump tells AbsolutePunk.net that the group's new album, "Folie A Deux," was highly influenced by the ideas Wentz was creating for the disc. The vocalist calls the project "Pete's best record lyrically," and adds, quote, "musically I was just going for whatever would support the lyrics." Stump says that on the current single, "I Don't Care," he felt that Wentz's words were very brutal concerning their attack on pop culture at the moment, and he wanted, quote, "music that fit that." Stump explains, quote, "You have this blues riff, and the blues is such an honest, organic thing, but it's totally buried underneath these synthesizers and all this overproduced drum stuff. It sounds like Gary Glitter, but like, Gary Glitter meets Big Bill Brumsy, and that was kind of mocking that whole commerciality thing." "Folie A Deux" is due November 4th.
