Spandau Ballet's "True" peaked at number four on the pop singles chart. Naked Eyes' "Promises, Promises" peaked at number eleven on the pop singles chart. Laura Branigan's version of the Michael Bolton penned song "How Am I Supposed To Live Without You" peaked at number 12 on the pop singles chart. Billy Joel's "Uptown Girl" broke into the Top 40. 1986 - Wham!'s album "Music From the Edge of Heaven" was certified Platinum. Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine's album "Primitive Love" was certified Platinum. Billy Joel's album "The Bridge" was certified Gold and Platinum. 1988 - New Kids On The Block's "Please Don't Go Girl" peaked at number ten on the pop singles chart. 1992 - Rod Stewart's album "Storyteller 1984 - 1991" was certified Gold. 1996 - Phil Collins released the album "Dance Into The Light." 2002 - The "American Idols Live" tour, featuring Kelly Clarkson, Justin Guarini, and Tamyra Gray, began with a show in San Diego, California. 2005 - Ashlee Simpson made her first appearance on "Saturday Night Live" since her infamous 2004 lip-sync fiasco. Ashlee sang two songs, including one that she told the crowd was inspired by the previous performance. 2007 - Britney Spears released the music video for her single "Gimme More" on MTV's "TRL." The song became Britney's highest charting track in the U.S. since her 1999 debut single "...Baby one More Time."<
