Ten Fallen NY Firefighters Honored
(Albany, NY) -- Ten firefighters who gave their lives across New York State now have their names etched on the Fallen Firefighters Memorial Wall in Albany. Governor Paterson presided over the ceremony Tuesday, saying their service will never be forgotten. More than 23-hundred heroes' names are inscribed on the ten-year-old memorial. In front of the wall stands a bronze sculpture depicting two firefighters carrying an injured colleague. Four of the new names were firefighters who died between 1938 and 1955.< |
