Foo's Fight McCain Over "My Hero"
The Foo Fighters are upset with Presidential candidate John McCain, and it involves more than just politics. According to Billboard.com, the band says its 1998 hit song "My Hero" is being used at McCain rallies without permission. The Foo Fighters say they're not exactly fans of McCain's message and feel that his use of the song tarnishes its original purpose, quote, "as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential." The Foo Fighters aren't the only musical group who have taken the McCain camp to task over song use. Van Halen, John Mellencamp, Jackson Browne and Heart are among the artists who have also expressed disapproval with McCain and his vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin for using their songs without permission.
