Jamey Johnson, Lorrie Morgan, Others Set For Opry's Birthday Bash
Jamey Johnson, Lorrie Morgan, Hal Ketchum, and Barbara Mandrell are among the stars slated to help the Grand Ole Opry officially turn 83. While the celebration is going on throughout the month, this weekend the Opry is formally marking its birthday with extra shows and other special events. The festivities begin Friday evening, with Johnson meeting fans and signing autographs in the Opry Shop. He'll then help kick off the first of two shows, joining Jim Ed Brown and The Whites for the night's lead-off set. It'll be the first of two performances for Johnson, who'll return to launch the second show with Connie Smith and Jeannie Seely. A full day of activities is set for Saturday. Highlights include an afternoon set from Morgan and a Q&A session with Mandrell. Ketchum will spend time in the Opry Shop greeting fans before performing Saturday night. Smith, Seely, and Brown will once again take the stage, while others slated to appear include Darryl Worley, Kenny Rogers, Ricky Skaggs, and Stonewall Jackson.
