Hank Jr. To Join McCain, Palin At Virginia Rally
Hank Williams Jr. is among those showing support for the republican's choice for president. Newport News, Virginia's "Daily Press" says the legendary singer is slated to perform at a rally for Arizona Senator John McCain and his running mate, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, in Virginia Beach Monday morning. Hank Jr. is one of several country stars who have taken an active stand behind the GOP. John Rich has perhaps been the most visible, writing the campaign song "Raisin' McCain", and playing it at several events. He also joined Gretchen Wilson, and Cowboy Troy to entertain at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul in early September. Aaron Tippin's another McCain supporter. He performed his politically-charged "Drill Here, Drill Now" at a McCain function in Florida a few weeks ago. |
