Springsteen Sets Release Date For "Dream"
The time between Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band albums continues to shrink. The group's new CD, "Working on a Dream," is slated to arrive on January 27th -- just 16 months after their last effort, "Magic." That compares to the five years between "Magic" and "The Rising," which came 18 years after "Born in the U.S.A." Springsteen attributes the relatively quick return to the excitement generated by working on "Magic," which he found conducive to songwriting. He notes that he and the E Streeters recorded the material during breaks during their tour, and he hopes they've been able to capture the energy that comes with being on the road. Bruce adds, quote, "All the songs were written quickly, we usually used one of our first few takes, and we all had a blast making this one from beginning to end." Fans got a preview of the project's title track over the weekend. A clip of "Working on a Dream" was featured in the halftime show during NBC's "Sunday Night Football" game.
