Different Strokes
The Strokes will return next year, but it may be a good thing to forget what you know about the band. Bassist Nikolai Fraiture says he expects that when the group returns to the studio next February, it may not be the same familiar sound that fans have come to count on from the group. He tells Spin.com that the dynamics will be different after the time away, and he feels the only way to move forward as a band is to make a change. The bassist says everyone is anxious to get back to work after a two-year hiatus. The time away has allowed the band members to pursue side projects. Fraiture's is called Nickel Eye, and that group's first release, "Time Of The Assassins," is due January 27th.
