Framing Hanley Talk "Lollipop"
Framing Hanley had one of those great impromptu moments that led to their current hit, "Lollipop." New guitarist Ryan Belcher unwittingly started the band on a path that would land them their breakout track. Singer Kenneth Nixon tells Billboard.com that after returning home from tour in April, they invited Nixon to join them after another guitarist split. Nixon mentioned that the band should cover the Lil Wayne hit, and Belcher immediately took the initiative to bust out some licks from the intro. The next thing the band knew, they had their own rock rendition of the track. Nixon says he's a fan of the rapper, and knowing that Wayne's a rock fan he hopes Weezy approves of their rendition. After playing it at a few gigs, the song quickly became a highly requested track from fans via their MySpace, so they decided to record and upload the song. From there, things have only taken off for the group. Framing Hanley just reissued their debut disc, "The Moment," with "Lollipop" tacked on.
