An Unusual Birthday Tribute For The Doors' Jim Morrison
The late Jim Morrison will be remembered next month in a rather unique way. Examiner.com's "Rock 'n' Roll Examiner" says a special tribute is in the works to commemorate the rock icon's 65th birthday. Back in the '60s, before he became famous, Morrison used to hang out at Barney's Beanery in West Hollywood, California. As the story goes, the singer ended up getting banned from the restaurant after he allegedly relieved himself on the bar. While it didn't sit so well with the establishment's management at the time, now Barney's wants to celebrate that moment. The Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger are expected to be on hand for a special ceremony in which a plaque will be placed on the exact spot on the bar that Morrison supposedly soiled. The event will take place on Morrison's birth anniversary, December 8th.
