Elton John's single "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" broke into the Top 40 chart. 1982 - Toto's single "Africa" broke into the Top 40 chart. 1984 - Michael Jackson got a star on Hollywood's Walk Of Fame. 1987 - Whitney Houston's album "Whitney" was certified multi-Platinum. The Prince movie "Sign O' The Times" opened in theaters. 1990 - Janet Jackson released the video "Rhythm Nation Compilation." 1991 - George Michael released his cover version of Elton John's "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me." 1995 - Whitney Houston hit number one on the pop singles chart with "Exhale (Shoop Shoop.)" 2001 - Jennifer Lopez's TV special "Jennifer Lopez in Concert" made its debut on NBC. Pink released the album "Missundaztood." Marc Anthony released the album "Libre." The Bee Gees released the album "Their Greatest Hits: The Record." Evan & Jaron rereleased their debut self-titled debut album. 2002 - Michael Jackson explained his "baby dangling" incident in Germany, saying it was, quote, "a terrible mistake," and that he, quote, "got caught up in the excitement of the moment." He also took his kids to the Berlin Zoo. Soft Cell began a U.S. tour with a show in Washington, DC. Enrique Iglesias was named "People" magazine's Sexiest Pop Star. 2003 - Michael Jackson surrendered to authorities in Santa Barbara, California regarding charges of child molestation. Jackson flew in from Las Vegas for the booking process, posted three-million-dollars bond, and flew back to Las Vegas. Beyonce, Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson and Matchbox Twenty were all on hand for the taping of VH1's "Big in '03" television event.<
