Greece Woman Not Charged For Unborn Death
(Greece, NY) -- The Greece woman accused of running down a pregnant woman, who lost her baby, will not face charges for the death of the child. Authorities say 23-year-old China Woods still faces second-degree assault for an alleged hit and run which injured 20-year-old Iris Diaz. Prosecutors say they can not file charges in connection with a child that is still in the womb and has not taken at least one breath of air. Police say Woods ran down Diaz about 11 p.m. Friday night after an argument. Diaz is listed in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital and may have a leg amputated.< |
