Greece Police Chief Denies Charges
(Greece, NY) -- The suspended police chief in Greece denies all of the disciplinary charges filed against him. Merritt Rahn has filed his response to the 46 allegations and says he wants to have a public hearing. Rahn is accused of improperly handling criminal charges against two officers recently. Officer Nicholas Joseph was convicted of a drug induced car crash, while Officer Gary Pignato was found guilty of coercing a woman to have sex with him. In the response, Rahn challenges many of the charges on technicalities. He says he was not served proper paperwork and the Town did not properly post the rules of the police department. Rahn also claims the new Public Safety Director, ordered to investigate the department, was appointed improperly by the town. |
