Yahoo! To Build Facility In Western New York
(Lockport, NY) -- Yahoo! is headed to Western New York. The company has announced plans for a new data center in Niagara County, bringing with it 125 high paying jobs. Yahoo! plans to invest upwards of 150-million dollars for the new global computer hub in Lockport. Previously, Yahoo! had said it was weighing three locations in Western New York, before deciding to land in Lockport. Yahoo! officials say they plan to build a 190-thousand square foot environmentally friendly building. Phase one will bring about 75 jobs by May of next year, with Phase Two not starting until 2012 at which point 50 more jobs will be added.< |
