Bono Reportedly On Board For "We Are The World" Remake
Bono is one of the names tipped for a massive new version of the benefit classic "We Are The World." Lionel Richie and Quincy Jones are backing the remake with proceeds going to help those in need in Haiti. Smokey Robinson, who appeared on the first single, said at Sunday's GRAMMY Awards that there would be no repeat performances from the original star-studded choir.
Bono sang on the 1984 Band Aid fundraiser "Do They Know It's Christmas?," but wasn't featured on the USA For Africa charity track from 25 years ago. RedOne, who garnered acclaim for his work with Lady GaGa this past year, will reportedly produce the track. GaGa and Bono join other recently named performers including Usher, Jason Mraz, Carlos Santana, Enrique Iglesias, Toni Braxton, Trey Songz, and Jennifer Hudson who are said to be on board for the "We Are The World" remake. |
