New State Bill Would Outlaw Carrying A Gun While Drunk
(New York, NY) -- New legislation could soon make it illegal to carry a gun in the Empire State while intoxicated. The law would rely on the same blood alcohol level, point-zero-eight-percent, used to determine whether a driver is drunk. The CWI, or Carrying While Intoxicated, law would not apply to hunting lodges and firing ranges. If the legislation passes, anyone caught drunk with a gun would be charged with a misdemeanor and face up to one year in jail and a ten-thousand dollar fine. |
