Carlos Santana, Tony Bennett Featured On New Year's Eve Specials
Carlos Santana and Tony Bennett are taking part in this weekend's televised New Year's Eve events. Santana is on board for the 40th anniversary edition of "New Year's Rockin' Eve." He's slated to be part of the New York City festivities, and team up with Justin Bieber for a special collaborative performance. Some of the other stars set for the show, which will also originate from Los Angeles, include Blink-182, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and The Band Perry. The five-and-a-half-hour, multi-part "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2012" will begin on ABC with a special "40th Anniversary Party" airing Saturday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
Tony Bennett is set for "NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly." The special will also feature "The Voice" coaches Blake Shelton and Cee Lo Green as well as Drake, Jessie J., and The Roots. Ricky Gervais, "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon, sportscaster Bob Costas, news anchor Brian Williams, and "Smash" star Megan Hilty are some of the other celebrities on board for the event, which will include a look back over this past year along with the musical performances. The two-hour "NBC's New Year's Eve with Carson Daly" will air live Saturday night from New York's Times Square in two segments. The show will run from 10:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Eastern, then resume at 11:30 p.m. Eastern. |
