Rihanna Accused Of Taking Video Idea From Norwegian Photographer
Rihanna is once again coming under fire for borrowing a little too heavily from a fashion photographer for her latest music video. The Fashionista.com blog points out that the pop diva's clip for "You Da One," released last week, bears a striking resemblance to the work of S?lve Sundsb?. In 2008, the Norwegian fashion photographer released a series of pictures for an editorial that featured a model posing with a polka dot light pattern projected onto her skin. Rihanna's "You Da One" video, directed by Melina Matsoukas, features a similar technique, and the singer even sports the same bowl cut hairstyle as Sundsb?'s model. So far, neither Rihanna or Sundsb? have commented on the similarities. This isn't the first time Rihanna has been accused of taking too much inspiration from famous photographers. Earlier this year, Billboard.com reports David LaChapelle received an "undisclosed sum" from the singer after he accused her of using his work in her "S&M" video, which was also directed by Matsoukas. Photographer Philipp Paulus also filed a lawsuit against Rihanna regarding another scene in the "S&M" clip. [[Twitter Quotes Cited Verbatim]]
